Dr Brian Dunne

Brian is a multi-award winning specialist orthodontist. Qualifying from Trinity College Dublin, he was awarded a gold medal, graduated with first-class honours, and was made a scholar of the university in recognition of clinical and academic excellence. He is one of only a few dentists to qualify with all these accolades.

Brian previously worked as a general dentist in private practice and across a range of hospital specialties, including children’s dentistry and maxillofacial surgery. During this time he achieved a diploma in primary care dentistry and gained membership in the Faculty of Dentistry with the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland. He presented at numerous conferences and notably, he was an award winner for his presentation at the UK Craniofacial conference in 2018 for his presentation on cleft lip and palate. He also held a position on the editorial board of the Journal of the Irish Dental Association.

As a specialist orthodontist, Brian has several postgraduate qualifications. He completed his 3 year full-time postgraduate specialist training at the prestigious Royal London Hospital, gaining membership in Orthodontics (MOrth) from the Royal College of Surgeons in England. He achieved his doctorate in clinical dentistry from Queen Mary University of London and was awarded the David DiBiase prize for clinical excellence in recognition of the high standard of orthodontic treatment his patients received.

Brian uses an evidence-based approach in his clinical practice. His doctorate focused on invisible orthodontics, making him an expert in this field. He is particularly interested in achieving excellent outcomes in complex Invisalign teen cases, which could previously only be attained with fixed braces.

Beyond the world of orthodontics, Brian enjoys spending time with friends and family, whether it be out for brunch or hosting dinners. At the weekend he can be found at his local CrossFit gym or at the driving range with his golf clubs.
