Your child’s smile grows with them, making early orthodontic treatment an effective way of ensuring a straight, healthy smile in adulthood. This early, preventative treatment, for children who have a mix of baby and permanent teeth can have a number of advantages.
With the aim of developing young jaws and arches to ensure there is room for existing and new teeth, Invisalign First can fix existing teeth-straightening conditions and stop bite issues getting worse. Improving the appearance of a growing child's smile, early intervention with Invisalign First can also make later treatment shorter and easier.

Narrow dental arches
Overbites & underbites
Tooth protrusions often caused by childhood habits like thumb sucking
Invisalign First is a virtually invisible orthodontic treatment specifically for young children.
It involves a series of custom-made trays that gradually expand your child’s jawline. The aligners are designed to fit smaller teeth, with space to accommodate teeth that are growing in for a comfortable yet highly effective orthodontic treatment.
Our skilled orthodontist, Dr Steffen Decker in London is highly experienced in the use of Invisalign First, using the treatment to correct current issues and helping to prevent more serious dental problems occurring in the future.
Unlike traditional braces, Invisalign uses state-of-the-art technology to create a set of bespoke clear, removable aligners, which gently guide your child's teeth into position.
Easy to keep good hygiene habits on track with brushing and flossing
Comfortable and removable - eat, drink, play and laugh to the fullest
Virtually invisible, with no rubbing brackets or wires
Firstly, we’ll take a digital scan of your child’s teeth using our state of the art digital scanner, which means no messy, uncomfortable dental impressions and ensures an accurate image of their teeth.
You’ll then receive an individual treatment plan video which shows how your child’s final smile will look.
Invisalign technicians will create a series of custom-made aligners from clear plastic, to gradually expand your child’s jawline, with space to accommodate teeth that are growing in.
Your child will wear each set of aligners in the series according to their treatment plan, until the process is complete. Each new aligner is slightly different to the last and progresses the tooth movement to the next step.
To achieve the best results, your child must wear their aligner as much as possible — ideally between 20 to 22 hours each day. Because the aligners are so comfortable, your child can wear them while sleeping.
During the treatment, we’ll see your child for regular checks to ensure that the aligners are working well and treatment is on track. Perfect for busy parents, the Invisalign First treatment process requires far fewer orthodontic appointments than with traditional braces.
Time to smile! During your final visit to Freshdental, your child’s orthodontist will decide if they need a retainer to maintain their teeth’s position prior to permanent teeth development.
If you're considering Invisalign First for your child, our highly qualified and experienced specialist orthodontist in London will discuss the best treatment options with you during a free initial consultation. Book their appointment today.
Invisalign First is specifically designed for young children, distinguishing it from other Invisalign options at Fresh Dental. It uniquely employs dental arch expansion to contour and expand a child's jawline.
For optimal results, your child is advised to wear their aligners as prescribed by their orthodontist, typically for at least 22 hours daily. Regular maintenance and orthodontist check-ups are crucial to ensure Invisalign First's effectiveness.
Since Invisalign First aligners are removable, your child can remove them while eating and drinking, allowing for a normal diet. However, we advise limiting high-sugar foods and drinks to protect developing teeth.
The length of Invisalign First treatment varies by patient, with the average duration ranging from 6 months to a year. An accurate timeline will be provided by your child's orthodontist during the initial assessment, tailored to your child's specific needs.
